Perfect Imperfecta
A happy afternoon in a Portland gallery
I spent early this afternoon at Imperfecta Gallery in downtown Portland, with the owner and founder, the wonderful and colorful, Daria Loi, an Italian-born artist, designer, curator, and former academic, and my (also wonderful) friend, the immensely talented Stephanie Brockway, who walked me through her exhibit that is dedicated to bees. I really needed this fun, intellectual art time. They both looked at my work and were kind enough to offer very helpful critiques that I needed and appreciated so much. I left feeling so great in spirit, and creatively recharged.
I attach a slideshow that showsStephanie’s work at first, but that also includes pieces from other artists to give you a better feel for what this amazing little gallery is like. I read a review somewhere that described it as “…a gallery space, community gathering place, installation venue, and cabinet of curiosities. “ perfect-Impercecta
The gallery originally opened in Oregon City and later relocated to downtown Portland’s North Park Blocks/Pearl District area at 809 NW Flanders Street. It is a must-see!
